Release 4.3 now available

Today we released a new version containing among other things a correction affecting station names. Due to a change in the saved structure to accommodate a new option for station groups, the field for the name has shifted (all things are stored in some form of strings, similar to xml). While the names were stored, they weren’t returned. This affected scenes you edited or created, not any scene from our catalog that you haven’t modified (and saved/reloaded) in any way.

A customer suggested to make an option to set the connector block length to zero. In TD3 the connector blocks are always zero, while in CTC we allow zero but also other lengths.

So we changed CTC such that if you change the block from regular to connector-only, the system allows you to optionally change the length to defaults to your choosing. In the detailed block info window, a message box will now appear to ask you whether you want to exercise this option, while in the group edit window for blocks a check box has been added next to the “Make Conn” button for this purpose.

You can set the defaults for your scene in the CTC Params window (Edit -> Params menu from main window). Initial defaults will be present for the first time or if you change the metric flag there, after which you can change it to values you like – and the new values will be saved in the scene data. You have separate defaults for regular blocks and connector blocks. While we were at it, we have done the same for div speed.

We made also some updates in the area of detailed block editing. These are the type of changes that you put on a back burner once you get that thing generally working, but over time you notice things that are minor or even strange but not a problem that requires immediate attention. And while testing the changes, a few more things may be discovered should be fixed also. For you it means a better and consistent experience when working in this area.

Finally, I would like to draw you attention to the “Subscribe” tag in the header of this page. With that you can subscribe to our email list, which we use to send out occasional newsletter to you. Your email will not be used for any other purpose, and the list will not be sold to others.

The CTC program as well as the territory files can be downloaded here and the User Manual is available here.
