CTC Release 4.7 is now available

CTC Release 4.7 has now been released. While 4.5 and 4.6 have addressed single though important issues, 4.7 has changes in several areas:

  • Traintype Deletions have further improved to avoid problems if the deleted traintype is still referenced in some areas
  • Undo/Redo have been fine tuned when dealing with certain objects, e.g. signals, control points and externs with regard to additions and deletions invoked by group editing
  • Undo/Redo functions (short cut key only) can now be used if the focus is on the detailed object list
  • Detailed list and main screen will now use the right mouse button to toggle membership in selection list maintained under detailed list control – the main screen buttons have been swapped, and the left mouse button is now used to show detailed objects (as is in the detailed list) [this is an editor function]
  • Message Central has been added to inform you about important updates.

Some background about the Message Central:

We have experienced some problems responding to customers because their email inbox was full and it wasn’t accepting our email response. Luckily, that customer had supplied a different email (via email registration within the CTC program), so we were able to respond. But it lead us to the idea to add a message interface from us to you. You probably have seen in other programs that alerts you about a new version or update of that program. We were thinking about adding this to CTC for quite some time, but the above email problem gave us the incentive to finally work on it. And because of that problem, we set it up in a way that will also allow us to pass messages to individual users.

So, even users who put a fake email address into CTC (for whatever reason) will not miss important information anymore.

CTC will now check for this kind of updates when the program is started. Since this is new for 4.7, there won’t a message that 4.7 is available, so we put in a kind of welcome message when you encounter it the first time.

As always

Enjoy the game and happy Dispatching
