What’s coming up in CTC 4.4

We’re now finalizing a new version of CTC, release 4.4.

It will contain the following improvements:

(1) Group Editing for Blocks: It will now be possible to create signals to all selected blocks with all variations of signals you can think of. You can now add hidden signals, triggers, and distance-only signals and all type of home signals, where you could add only regular signals before. There were also some inconsistencies when handling extern links just by themselves or along signals in one execution step.

(2) There is a new signal type: it will be possible to add distant-only signals to your layout. They can serve as a repeater signal to convey the – updated – information passed from the previous home signal. Also if home signals are too far apart, that the previous home signal does not have indication about the next one, you can add a distant-only as well – this is a configuration you can find on many prototype railroads.

(3) We will also make it easier for you to transfer licenses that you bought earlier for an older computer to a CTC installation on a new computer. You will have to have the old computer updated to 4.4 as well, so that you can initiate a transfer from there, while on the new one you can request to receive the transfer along with the generation codes. The link between both will be the promo code from the old installation that you will have to enter on the new  computer when making that request. When we receive both requests in our office we will generate the new codes (which are different for each installation) for your newer installation.

Details are to follow.
