5.4.3 Operation Mode

Under this menu you select the following

  • Sync mode: If checked, the simulator’s clock is synchronized with the PC clock. If unchecked, the simulator’s clock runs independently of the PC clock. If changed from sync to non-sync, the simulator clock will continue to run on the time previously set from the PC clock. If changed from non-sync to sync, the simulator time is set to the PC clock time, including the weekday. Scheduled trains already running in the simulator will continue to run. Scheduled trains not running prior to the change but which are supposed to run after the change will be activated and will appear at their scheduled entrance point. If the weekday changes, the remaining trains on the old weekday will be activated, and then all trains on the new weekday up to the new time.

Note: if the PC clock time is changed while the simulator is running in sync, the same will happen as described above for the “non-sync to sync” case.

  • Show in Metric: If checked the metric system will be used to display all length and speed information, otherwise the imperial system (feet and miles) are used.

  • Re-Center: Used to set zoom and position to default values.

  • Sound LOUD: If checked: the ringing tone of the phone and the buzzer is louder than if unchecked.

  • Automatic Zoom: If checked, the search function “Show me where it is” in various panels, will not only highlight where the object is, but move the screen and zoom in to get the object in the center of the screen.

  • POPUP Route Dest: Controls the behavior when a block or signal is selected as route destination with the right mouse button. If checked a popup menu will appear that will offer several options how to complete a route (execute/stack, train/switch). If unchecked, will be stacked right away. (This option is offered as a substitute if you don’t have a middle button of the mouse available)

  • Triggers: Opens another dialog where you can administer trigger functions.

  • Proceed after Stop: Used to change application of proceed-after-stop to NONE (off), Invisible (hidden) Signal Only or Any Automatic Signal

  • Use Route Code in Numpad: Routes can be activated or stacked using the numpad, either by entering two objects (block or signal) or by entering a route code assigned to a route section. A “/” is used to distinguish both types. If this option is set, the “/” must be used as a first character if you want to enter a route not using the route code. If it is not set the “/” must be used as a first character if you do want to use the route code.

  • Phone Text Slow: The text displayed in the phone conversation is displayed type-writer-style to show the progression of speech as being spoken if checked. Otherwise the text is displayed at once when that part of the conversation starts. Note: this option does not affect the time that is needed for the questions and answers. The phone conversation will allow to proceed with the next part of a conversion when the previous part is complete.

  • Default Ackn Time: Default wait time in minutes before caller calls again
